Other Funding Sources

While the EU is a big provider of funding and runs many programmes, there are also many other funding sources and programmes that impact the EU, involve the Commission or programmes to which EU Member States are party. In this section you find funding sources that do not involve the EU but impact current or future Member States or programmes that include the European Commission but are not included in the Financial Framework and the annual budget.

These funding sources are of various types, such as EC funds, bilateral agreements, and special country or topic specific funds.

The programmes are run by a variety of EU and non EU actors such as the European Council, EEA-EFTA Member States, coalitions consisting of non EU and EU Member States but they all include a specific target group within a specific field and are managed by to their own specific rules.
