Rapid reaction facility (RRF)
This mechanism is designed to enhance the EU’s civilian capacity to intervene fast and effectively in crisis situations, i.e natural disasters, conflict prevention and crisis management in third countries.
Recommendations
Regulation
The regulations are a secondary legal source directly applicable in all Member States on the basis of their publication in the Official Journal and do not require national acts to transpose them.
Rendez-vous clause
Sometimes, when EU leaders are discussing an important legal document such as a new Treaty, they cannot reach agreement on a particular issue. They may decide to return to this subject at a later date. Their decision is made official by putting it in writing and including it as a clause in the legal text they are discussing. This type of clause is sometimes known as a “rendez vous clause”.
Reports
The reports are published by the European Commission and concern the implementation of a Community measure and policies.
Representation
The European Commission is represented in each Member State by a representation office. Its main task is to facilitate the contact between the Commission and national authorities, organisations, media and citizens.
Rule of Origin
A product is said to be originating from the area in which it was grown, harvested, wholly produced or substantially transformed. In most instances the definition used by the WTO is applied.
