Solidarity and Management of Migration Flows

Budget: EUR 5 866 million

With such a large number of foreign nationals attempting to enter European Union member states everyday, this program aims to manage the flow of migration into the European Union by fostering common objectives, cooperation and legislation among the Member States.

Four programmes fall under this Framework programme, namely:

• European Refugee Fund

• External Borders Fund

• The Integration of Third- Country Nationals (INTI)

• The Return Fund

General objectives of the Framework programme:

• Manage efficiently the movement of persons at external borders in order to achieve a smooth crossing and a high level of protection;

• Develop a common return policy and an „integrated return management”, including analysing the returnees and the situation in the country of origin;

• Develop a common immigration policy and a common approach concerning the rights and obligations of immigrants
